Pitch

For

my final production which is a five-minute extract from a television documentary I will be producing “contemplation”

I will be doing this in participatory mode as I will be filming what I’m doing and what others are doing differently in comparison to last year vs this year.

The key ideas I want to portray throughout the documentary is the theme of mental health, how the global pandemic has affected lots of people in different ways and their coping methods.

The different documentary techniques I will be using are voiceovers, archived footage, interview, non-diegetic and diegetic sound and use of text and titles.

I plan to involve my mother and a handful of my friends as I think they will be the most accessible and interesting to interview as it gives me a select number of opinions.

I plan to make use of the same archived footage such as of the horses. However, what I plan to improve on more Is my interviewing technique and my montage (making it clearer) and with a better sound.

I think the best way to reach my target audience would be through the platform such as Netflix or airing it on ITV as teenagers of 12-21 tend to watch these platforms the most. As my target audience is mainly 12-21 year olds it is also to anyone and everyone who has had COVID-19 affect them or even just lived through it.
